David and Devyn met while playing soccer at Ohio State University’s indoor soccer club during her freshman year. After dating for seven years later, David proposed during a New Year’s Eve trip with friends on the top of the Blue Ridge Mountains, overlooking a “beautiful, snowy vista,” Devyn says.
A year and a half later, their handpicked music playlist—featuring what Devyn calls an “Irish sound”—played at their reception. For Devyn and David, the most memorable moment will remain the ceremony.
“Walking down the aisle was the big moment for David and I,” says Devyn. ”[We] opted not to do a first look so that we could have that once-in-a-lifetime experience as I walked down the aisle to meet him at the altar.” Also special to Devyn was the particular mother-daughter moment she experienced as her mother escorted her down the aisle.
Devyn and David took photos right after the ceremony, while the guests were heading to the reception.
“It was such a nice bit of time to have to ourselves, on our wedding day, before we went to enjoy our reception with all our friends and family,” says Devyn.
